Vertel, Australia’s largest privately owned telecommunications carrier, has partnered with Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC) solution provider TASSTA, to develop and bring to market an enhanced voice, data and video messaging service for organisations with business, mission and life-critical operations.
Vertel’s PoC service is a fully integrated offering that is set to be a ‘game-changer’ for instant team and group communications. It takes all the great aspects of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and integrates them with the capability of mobile phone networks.
Key features of Vertel’s PoC service include:
- A growing range of ‘certified devices and peripherals’ for optimised performance of voice and data services.
- High availability and enhanced coverage via multiple underlying public and private networks. Multiple carrier options plus Vertel LTE and WLAN integration and Australia-based Cloud environment integration.
- Standards-based gateways for existing LMR technologies and networks. Gateways are developed and enhanced by Vertel and vendor partners.
- Customisable PoC application developed to emerging Mission Critical Push To Talk (MCPTT) standard.
- 24/7 NOC and Service Desk with ‘Over the Air’ configuration and management. Vertel mobile device management and locked down operating environment provide the platform for a future of enhanced mobility for any business.
Andrew Findlay, Executive Director, Vertel, said: “As pioneers of two-way radio in Australia, our initial focus has been on how to use PoC to enhance the investments our customers have made in their LMR networks. We then intend to expand this focus to include organisations with critical communication requirements and ‘enhanced messaging services’ for in-field teams. We are thrilled to be working with Tassta as our application partner and are committed to the development and enhancement of this service going forward.”
Kaveh Hosseinzadeh, CEO TASSTA, said: “Vertel is a pioneer of radio communications in Australia and we are very proud to be partnering with them on this exciting launch. Vertel undertook extensive research into Push to Talk providers around the world and we are excited that they chose our solution for their business, mission and life critical applications. TASSTA has the potential to augment and enhance existing two-way radio technology with new mobile broadband capabilities, and we are confident that with its wide-ranging features and interoperability, our solution will be a significant addition to the Vertel service portfolio.”
